How 'Bout it?

So, having 2 blogs is kind of hard. Harder than I would have thought. When I make new things I want to share them here but they're already on the other blog, and when I have a cute picture of Chandler I want to show it over there but it's already here. I know, if that's all I have to worry about then my life must be pretty good right now. I won't argue with that. But still, how about I do a little consolidating and just do ALL my blogging at Mama-Mia? And I'd love it if you would put my new blog on your sidebars. Pretty please?

Aaah, I think my life just got a teeny bit simpler. Always a good feeling.

You evel twits

I forgot to post this forever ago. The construction company I work for built a trail in Payson a few months ago, and had to cut down a few trees in the process. Apparently a few kids were very attached to the trees, because they left these notes out for our workers. (Click to see larger)

It worked with Life cereal

Chandler likes when I pour a little bit of cereal in his bowl and top it with just a teeny bit of milk. He doesn't get how to use a spoon yet, so he uses his hands. The other day we only had Fruity Pebbles. It didn't work so well.

Remember these?

Well I finally redid them! Check 'em out at my other blog! :)

Why yesterday was a momentus day (Aren't most days?)

  • Ellen is back!
  • I used my camera in manual mode AND with custom white balance for the first time. I kind of feel dumb for taking over a year and a half to do it.
  • Chandler had a checkup with a new doctor, who I really like. He is in the 99th %tile for height and 97th for weight and head circumference.
  • I got to experience Operation Repo for the first time. All I can say is "wow."
  • I worked out for the first time in forever. As in, more than just went for a walk like I usually do. I had been feeling so sluggish lately and it really helped. I'm hooked!

9.08.2009

We went on a family hike on Saturday. We started at Aspen Grove, where I thought there was a little trail to the waterfalls. I've been there a few times but it was at least 4 or 5 years ago - does anyone know what I'm talking about? Anyway, we started at the Mt. Timpanogos trailhead and hiked til Chandler got cranky. I decided this would be a good time to break out the camera. I'm determined this week to use it every day, and in manual mode. (I always shoot in aperture-priority unless it's dark and then I use full auto. Lame, I know.) As usual, I am behind the lens in every picture.

Thank goodness for that bug juice.

Name That Virus

So that you can see what I have been up to lately, let's play a little game that I like to call "Name That Virus." It's really fun, I promise. Ready?

Here is what Chandler's hand looks like:

(Kind of blurry, taking these was a struggle.)

Here is his foot:

But he is still pretty much his normal, happy, mischief-making self.

Guesses, anyone?

If you guessed Hand, Foot, & Mouth, you are right!!! You did such a good job.

Join Me!

Some friends and I are starting a new challenge for the next 6 weeks. Each day you have the opportunity to earn 10 points, and there is a prize at the end for earning the most points. You earn points in the following ways:

  1. 7 Hours of Sleep
  2. 48 oz of Water
  3. 45 min of exercise (Not necessarily consecutive)
  4. 2 servings veggies, 2 servings fruit
  5. No soda, alcahol, unhealthy snacks, bad fast food
  6. No sweets, but sugar-free alternatives are ok
  7. No eating after 8PM
  8. 15 min of reading scriptures/spiritual text
  9. One journal entry any length
  10. Express sincere appreciation to spouse (or another person if not married)
You get one free point per category, per week. You can eat sweets if it's your Birthday.

At first I thought I'd just kind of do this thing halfway - no unhealthy fast food or sweets? I'm PREGNANT! Are you kidding me?! But then I realized that if I'm getting sleep, water, fruits and vegetables, and taking my vitamins I really shouldn't need a pop tart or bag of peach rings to get through the day. And all of these things are good to do anyway, so why not?

Anyway, I think you should join me!

Three things that make me happy

Being pregnant for the second time is SO different from the first. The first time around, I was excited about the baby, but also excited about the pregnancy. This time I'm kind of "been there done that" about the pregnancy and it's been hard to be all can't-hardly-stand-it-excited to meet this little guy because I know he will just get here when he gets here.

But then we got this on Tuesday:

And now I just stare at it and try to imagine what our little boy will look like asleep in our room, what it will sound like when he cries for food in the middle of the night, how much he will look like Chandler, etc. and I'm getting to be all can't-hardly-stand-it-excited to meet this little guy. :)

Secondly, and please don't think I'm crazy, but I had a nursing dream the night we bought the cradle. You probably have to have nursed to understand what I mean, and even then maybe not, but I am just SO EXCITED to nurse and take care of this baby. Thanks to a good friend and La Leche League member who gave me lots of good advice, my nursing experience with Chandler was totally painless and easy so I'm not dreading this one bit.

And finally . . .

Project Runway started last night! There is finally something good on TV again!!!

Weekend Pics

We took these on Sunday. Chandler kept running away from me so I had to wait for Paul to come home from counting tithing before I could get a clear (and booger-free) shot of Chandler's face.

Do you see my hair here? A little while ago I went in for some SUBTLE highlights. I ended up with yellow bangs, which I went home and dyed dark myself. I still have these yellow streaks all over. Also, you can see how long my roots are. It hasn't even been that long. Go pregnancy!
